Professor Eleni Aklillu at the Department of Global Public Health has secured €1.3 million for an EU-funded project under TEI MAV+, aimed at strengthening clinical research and education in Rwanda. Helena Nordenstedt is a Senior lecturer and associate professor in global health at GPH and expert coordinator at the Centre for Health Crises. She combines her research with clinical work in internal medicine at Danderyds sjukhus. Her projects range from infectious disease outbreaks to non-communicable diseases like cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, focusing on low-income settings. At the end of March, part of the GPH administration visited Makerere University’s School of Public Health (MakSPH) and College of Health Sciences (MakCHS), in Kampala Uganda. At the moment, the library has a trial on the database Overton! In Overton, you can find, among other things, policy documents, government guidelines, and reports from non-governmental organisations. The database can be used to search for grey literature. It can also be used to identify and measure the impact of research on policy issues, as references are extracted from the documents.

KI has awarded this year's Sustainability Prize to Ester Gubi, a doctor and sociologist, and Ann Liljas, associate professor in global public health and assistant lecturer, both at the Department of Global Public Health at KI. They receive the prize for their outstanding contributions to sustainable development. The prize was awarded for the third time and in connection with KI's Sustainability Day on 2 April.
