How to extract reports for projects and research projects
To produce reports on project balances and research projects, you can use VIS or UBW, which have the same functions as in ‘Forskarwebben’, which was closed in January.
Use the VIS or UBW system
"Forskarvy" in VIS can be used by those who have financial responsibility for one or more research projects. This is automatically assigned to Head of Department, Head of Unit, Team leaders or Project leaders.
The VIS application reads data from UBW and makes the information available through reports. This makes it possible to see the financial status of research projects.
UBW allows you to produce project balance reports, the same information that was available in ‘Forskarwebben’. Log in through UBW web - no authorisation is required other than login.
UBW is KI's financial system that handles accounting, payments, customer invoicing and reporting. Other systems, such as Primula, are linked to UBW.

Background
The decision to close down "Forskarwebben" was taken in autumn 2024 and the system was closed in January 2025. Analyses revealed that the system was substandard and that there was a risk of incorrect reporting, and thus incorrect decisions. ‘Forskarwebben’ was based on an outdated system that did not provide good conditions for management and maintenance.
Information about the closure of ‘Forskarwebben’ has previously been shared with administrative and professional support at the departments.
"Forskarvy" in VIS has been available since 2019.
