Peter Alterling, change leader at FyFa and main project leader of the FyFa Dialogue, answers three questions about the results and next steps after the spring dialogue sessions.

During the spring, all FyFa's staff categories have gathered in turn to discuss various strategic themes for the department, such as the department's research and education strategy and what ‘excellence’ means for FyFa. Now all the workshops have taken place and the follow-up work has begun.

Peter, what have been the main outcomes of FyFa Dialogue?

"I would say that the greatest benefits of the FyFa Dialogue are that everyone has had the opportunity to sit down and discuss key topics for FyFa, and that everyone has had the opportunity to contribute with their opinions and suggestions. It is also important that we in the FyFa Dialogue project group take care of and pass on the opinions and ideas that have come in. Right now we are documenting and analysing the material on the canvases, so we will come back with more concrete results."

You have gathered a lot of material from the workshops, how will you report back to the department?

"There will be reporting back on several levels; a summary of the material that came out of the meetings will of course go to the management group as well as the strategy group for analysis and for decisions on what to include in FyFa's long-term strategy and business plan. We are also planning for a kick-off for FyFa in September when the management team will share the main outcomes of the FyFa Dialogue. In addition to this, you will surely see some of the visual interpretations of the future of FyFa in weekly newsletters, on Teams and on the digital screen quite soon!"

Can we see any change already now as a result of FyFa Dialogue?

"Yes, several changes at different levels have already been implemented. One example is a newly established Professors' Forum, for FyFa's professors and senior professors, which is now up and running. Another example is that there is now fruit at FyFa fikat and a third is the FyFa Pub that starts with a first event on 28 May."
