300 researchers supported by Clinicum's method advisory – high satisfaction
Since its inception, Clinicum has supported over 300 researchers with methodological advice. During the spring, an evaluation was conducted on how researchers perceive the support offered by Clinicum, and the results show great benefit and satisfaction.
Clinicum conducts an evaluation every year to develop the advisory support and identify the needs that exist. This spring's survey targeted all individuals who had received support up until the turn of the year 24/25. A total of 107 responses were received, with a response rate of 47 percent.
The results from the evaluation showed that an overwhelming majority of respondents had a very positive experience with Clinicum's support services, highlighting the advisors' competence, professionalism, and helpfulness. Researchers found the advisory meetings to be clear, tailored to their needs, and effective, particularly regarding issues related to study design, power calculations, statistical analysis methods, and support with grant applications.
"We would like to extend a big thank you to all researchers who have taken the time to answer our questions and thereby help shape Clinicum according to the existing needs, thus contributing to our joint efforts to continue improving the quality of our research," says Sandra Eloranta, Director of Clinicum.
Need for Long-Term Support
Several researchers also mentioned that there is a broader need for long-term support, an issue that we at Clinicum understand well and will continue to actively work on as part of our long-term vision.
One of the comments from the evaluation that was particularly appreciated highlights the broader benefits of our advisory services. One of the researchers expressed it as follows:
"I include my doctoral students and often use the knowledge I have gained from the advisory sessions when working with my own students or in other teaching. This is a fantastic capacity-building initiative while also enhancing the quality of science."
A more comprehensive summary of the evaluation will be presented by Clinicum's working group during the spring. Please contact clinicum@ki.se if you would like to receive this report.
