From junior to senior – LabMed Connect seminar series is for everyone

On April 23rd, the Department of Laboratory Medicine launched the "LabMed Connect seminar series", an initiative aimed at bringing people across the department closer together.
The event was initiated by the LabMed Departmental Junior Faculty and supported by the LabMed Management Team, who also contributed to a lunch sandwich for all attendees. With over 40 researchers attending in person and an additional 15 joining online, the seminar was well-received and marked an important step toward building a more interconnected departmental community.
The seminar opened with welcoming words from Jonas Fuxe, Head of Department, who emphasized the value of creating platforms that bring colleagues together across divisions. This was followed by an introduction to the Division of Pathology by Division Head Dhifaf Sarhan, and two short scientific presentations on ongoing research by PhD student Yizhe Sun and postdoctoral researcher Mark Issa.
While the seminar was coordinated by the LabMed Junior Faculty group, LabMed Connect is for everyone - regardless of career stage or division. The series is meant to be a welcoming platform for sharing important departmental updates, exchanging ideas, and giving colleagues the chance to introduce their work in an informal yet informative setting.
"The goal of this seminar series is to strengthen communication and promote a sense of community within Labmed. We hope it will become a regular opportunity for everyone in the department to engage with one another and get more familiar with each other’s work", says Tímea Szekerczés, one of the organizers from Labmed Junior Faculty group.
"The series will continue in May, and we look forward to seeing which division will present next".
