The BioNut administration is the first to move, as a part of the relocation project going on in Neo, Flemingsberg. By the end of October, the administration can instead be found on floor 6 in Neo, in ITA's former premises.

On 17 August the Swedish Security Service raised the terrorist threat level from 3 (elevated) to 4 (high) on a five-point scale on account of the increased threat of terrorism in the country. The Security Service believes that the threat will remain for the foreseeable future, and has raised the level as a signal to all public bodies that they must continue their efforts to reduce the risk of an attack.

In February, the renovation of the property Fysiologen will begin as part of the life science initiative being conducted at Karolinska Institutet and Hagastaden. The building will be an attractive and modern office environment and laboratory for new operators working in medicine and health and is expected to be completed in 2023.

A Working Lab is expanding its activity with a new hub for co-working and shared laboratory environments at Alfred Nobels Allé 10, which is scheduled to open in the spring of 2022. Students, researchers and university employees will be able to meet here and find ways to collaborate and innovate within the field of life science.

Following a thorough investigation and the collation of an internal survey, the president of Karolinska Institutet (KI), Professor Ole Petter Ottersen, has today decided to change the names of one of the university’s halls, propose name changes for one building and two roads on Campus Solna, and amend the naming principles.

As many as six photovoltaic power installations have now been put into operation on campus Solna. The installations are located on the roofs of, among others, Widerströmska huset, A Working Lab Innomedicum and the Berzelius Laboratory. Together, the solar cells cover an area of approximately 2,100 square metres and provide the campus area with renewable energy.
