As a member of staff at KI, you play a vital role in preventing theft, vandalism and incidents that compromise safety on campus. Please follow the guidelines when receiving visitors at KI.

Make sure doors are closed behind you after you have entered using your access card, and accompany visitors to and from meetings.

  • If a person you do not recognise follows you through the door, ask them the purpose of their visit or for a contact person. Check whether the person has a KI card; if not, direct them to the nearest reception.

If you spot anyone unauthorised, contact the security guards who are available on the KI campus 24 hours a day. Save their number in your phone.

Visits by external guests to KI’s premises

  • You are responsible for your visitors for the duration of their visit.
  • Please meet your external visitors and then accompany them all the way out.

Always carry your KI card/access card with you

Please ensure that your KI card is always accessible and visible. Never lend your card to anyone else.

If you lose your card or keys, report it immediately to the Safety Unit: sakerhetsenheten@ki.se.

In the event of a break-in, theft or vandalism

If you discover a break-in or vandalism:

  • Contact the security guards on campus and inform them.
  • Do not enter or touch anything in the affected area; try to cordon off the area and keep others at a distance if possible.
  • Report the incident and report the theft to the police.

In an emergency

In the event of a serious incident, threat or violence, there are procedures and guidelines to follow. Familiarise yourself with them so that you are prepared should anything happen.

In an emergency: call 112 (SOS Alarm)

In a threatening situation

  • In a difficult situation, contact a security guard
  • If someone becomes threatening, try to stay calm and keep your distance. Do not provoke, and avoid physical contact.
  • Try to alert colleagues, fellow students or others to the threat.

If threats turn into action

  • Try to move away from the area and take cover.
  • Raise the alarm and warn others.
