New car park operator and digital pay system on KI campus from 1 January
A digital system for parking permits and payment is to be introduced on both KI campuses on 1 January 2026. Parking spaces are to be provided by Akademiska Hus, whose contract with Smart Parkering will commence on that date.
Important: To park at a discounted rate, staff will need to enter a code in the SmartPark app. You can find further details and a code when logging in with your KI ID on the “Parking on Campus” page.
Paying via the SmartPark app
A digital system is being introduced for parking on the spaces that Akademiska Hus provides on the KI campus. The old physical decals will cease to be in effect and will be replaced by digital parking permits.
You can obtain your parking permit on the SmartPark app using a code that you will find when logged into the “Parking on Campus” page (log in using your regular KI ID). The code is intended for staff working on campus and may not be passed on to anyone outside the organisation.
Digital permits will be available via the SmartPark app from December. The physical decals will remain in effect for a transitional period ending on 31 January 2026.
To get started
- Download the SmartPark app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Enter the code that you will find when logged into the “Parking on Campus” page using your KI ID.
- Follow the instructions in the app for permit and payment.
Fees as of 1 January 2026
The fees have been adjusted to align with the market levels that apply in Stockholm.
- Staff: SEK 70 per day, 7.00 am – 6.00 pm
- Monthly subscriptions are available - see the app for price.
- Short-term parting for visitor and students are handled digitally via the app or SMS. Fee for visitors and students: SEK 25 per hour.

Parking fines can be appealed using the QR code printed on the parking ticket or by mailing overklagan@smartp.se.
Personal parking subscriptions
If you already have a personal parking subscription via Aimo Park, you will need to sign a new agreement with Smart Parkering as your Aimo Park subscription will expire with the change of parking operator on 1 January. An email containing relevant information has been sent to everyone concerned.
