Voting is now open

If you are eligible to vote, you will have received instructions from KI Survey via email on 4 February. Vote by 11 February for the candidates you think are best suited for the positions.

- Your vote and your commitment are needed. Together, we can create the conditions for strong collegial influence and effective governance here at KI. This is important for us to be able to conduct high-quality education and research and to develop as a leading medical university, says President Annika Östman Wernerson.

How the advisory election works

The Nomination Assembly has selected the candidates from among the nominations that all employees had the opportunity to make in accordance with KI's guidelines for academic elections.

Once the advisory election results have been determined, they will be shared with the President. The election is advisory because, according to KI's election rules, it is the President who makes the final decision on who is appointed. The election results provide the President with a strong basis and show the support the candidates have among colleagues.

The President's interviews and decision

During the second half of February, the President interviews candidates in each area. The number of interviews may vary between areas. The purpose of the interviews is to clarify expectations and the terms of the assignment.

The election results and the President's decision on who will be appointed are expected to be announced in week 11. The decision is based on an overall assessment of the interviews, the election results and the current guidelines for elections at KI, including principles for gender distribution.

Parallel process: Election of faculty members

From week 7, the process of electing Faculty Members to the collegial bodies will also begin: the Faculty Board, the Committee for Education, the Committee for Doctoral Education and the Committee for Research. This process is expected to be completed in April.

The term of office for Deans, Deputy Deans and Faculty Members is 1 July 2026–31 December 2029.
