Doctoral students at KI who are employed by Region Stockholm can now apply to Clinicum’s Method Support Programme 2027. The programme offers tailored support from methods experts in areas such as biostatistics, epidemiology and bioinformatics, with workshops and methods advice based on the doctoral student’s research project. The application deadline is 6 December 2026.

The method support programme connects doctoral students at KI with a biostatistician, epidemiologist, engineer or bioinformatician who has experience of methods needed for the research the doctoral student will carry out. The methods expert acts as a discussion partner and provides support in the research process, primarily regarding the methodological aspects of the project.

The support for each doctoral student includes up to 10 hours of meeting time in total during 2027.

The support is tailored to the individual. To begin with, a series of online workshops on study planning and efficient work with data will be held on four Wednesdays, from 27 January to 17 February, 16.00–17.30. After that, methods advice meetings will be offered based on the doctoral student’s needs. The number and length of meetings, and the time between them, will be decided together with the doctoral student based on what best suits the doctoral student and the project.

You are eligible to apply if you are a registered doctoral student at KI employed within Region Stockholm, with priority given to employees at Karolinska University Hospital (K) in Solna and Flemingsberg, as the support is provided through K’s Clinicum nodes. The method support is free of charge, but a fee of SEK 3,000 will be charged if an admitted doctoral student is absent from the programme without a valid reason.
