They receive grants for interdisciplinary research networks

The Committee for Research has decided to award grants to 15 networks within the call for funds for interdisciplinary research networks. The aim of the initiative is to strengthen scientific quality and promote collaborations across institutional boundaries.

The networks that receive funding include researchers from several departments and campuses within Karolinska Institutet (KI). With this funding, the networks can develop and conduct interdisciplinary collaborations, including for example, seed funding, researcher mobility, and collaboration with industry, healthcare, and the public sector.

“We are extremely pleased with the great interest and the high quality of the applications. These networks will play a crucial role in creating new research opportunities and deepening collaborations within KI”, says Marie Arsenian Henriksson, Academic Vice President for Research and Chair of the Committee for Research.

The networks are funded for three years, starting in January 2025, and receive support of SEK 350,000 or 600,000 per year. This gives researchers the opportunity to develop long-term projects and create sustainable networks that promote interdisciplinary research at KI.
