Symposium for BUL recruitment – 8 December

FyFa is currently recruiting an Assistant Professor (BUL) in the field of human physiology or medicine in extreme environments, as part of KI's strategic recruitment programme. The position is an important initiative to strengthen research in this field.

A total of 64 applications were received. After careful review and digital interviews with the recruitment committee, three final candidates were selected and invited to an onsite visit on 8–9 December.

Symposium for everyone at FyFa

As part of the visit, an open symposium will be held where the candidates will present their research and the results achieved so far. All staff and students at FyFa are warmly welcome to attend!

09:00 – Fabian Möller, Title: Physiology of Extreme Environments: From Water Immersion to High Altitude and Spaceflight 
09:45 – Hannah Caldwell, Title: Cardiovascular Physiology at the Limits: Ultra-Endurance Exercise and Sepsis
10:30 – Coffee break
11:00 – Ben Stocks, Title: From Movement to Molecules: A Multi-Scale Perspective on Human Exercise Biology

Chalk Talk for a smaller group

On 9 December, a Chalk Talk will be held for a small group from FyFa. Participants will receive a separate invitation. Here, candidates will present their future research plans without slides or visual aids, using only a whiteboard.
Immediately after the presentations, a follow-up meeting will be held to discuss the candidates.

More about the visit

In addition to the symposium and Chalk Talk, the programme will include tours, meetings with research groups and the administration.
