KI is now looking for a Director for research infrastructure. This is a new role that will be central to the development of Research Infrastructure at KI (RIKI), which will, among other things, meet the university's growing need for coordinated, quality-assured and secure core facilities. During the recruitment period, an acting director will be responsible for the work.

Preparations are underway to establish Research Infrastructure KI (RIKI) from 1 January. As part of the development, KI is now recruiting a director for research infrastructure. This is a new strategic role with the task of leading, developing and coordinating KI's overall research infrastructure within RIKI. The closing date for applications is 9 January 2026.

"With RIKI, we are taking an important step towards a more coordinated and quality-assured research infrastructure, which strengthens KI's position as a leading medical university. The new director will be a key person in putting this ambition into practice and equipping KI for the future," says President Annika Östman Wernerson.

RIKI is being established to strengthen quality, long-term thinking and a holistic perspective within KI's research infrastructure and to create better conditions for researchers and activities. The new director will play a central role in driving operational and strategic development forward.

While recruitment is ongoing, Karin Dahlman Wright will step in as acting director from 1 January 2026. She is chair of KI's Infrastructure Committee and has led the work in the focus area that forms the basis for the decision to establish RIKI.
