Distance learning for the remainder of the spring term
In order to simplify planning for both teachers and students, the Committee for Higher Education has decided that teaching at the basic and advanced levels will take place via distance for the remainder of the spring term.
"We hope that this will make it easier for both students and teachers to plan their studies and work more long-term," says Annika Östman Wernerson, Academic Vice President of Higher Education.
In line with the government's call, Karolinska Institutet (KI) has, since 18 March, converted all education and examinations to distance. The call is based on the recommendations of the Public Health Authority to reduce the spread of covid-19.
In a short time, teachers, students and administrative staff have worked hard to adapt to distance education.
The duration that the government's recommendation on distance studies will be valid cannot be assessed at this time. Therefore, on 2 April, KI’s Committee for Higher Education decided that education and examinations should occur via distance during the remainder of the spring term.
