Karolinska Institutet is part of NeurotechEU (NTEU), a European University alliance. The Neuroscience Internship Program Bonn provides bachelor and master students with an opportunity to engage in hands-on lab experiences within the field of neuroscience and neurotechnology. Last day for application Jan 8, 2025
In the summer 2025 one of our partners, University of Bonn, is once again organizing the summer internship program for bachelor and master’s students. Last year many students from KI got accepted in the program.
The University of Bonn will offer two fixed periods: June/July or July/August and the internship program will last 8-10 weeks.
Under the guidance of expert scientists, students will work on ongoing research projects to gain practical experience and build professional networks. In addition to the University of Bonn/the UKB, associated partners – such as the DZNE or the Max Planck Institute will also participate in the program.
A maximum of 25 interns from all partners within NTEU will be accepted in Bonn and there will be an accompanying leisure program.
As a KI student you will first need to apply internally with your motivation letter, CV and transcript of records (Ladok); if interested in the summer internship in Bonn you must send in the above mentioned documents to neurotech@ki.se no later than January 8th.
Applications handed in later than 8 of January 2025 will not be considered.
Our NTEU scientific coordinator will assess all the incoming applications, and all students will receive written information regarding the outcome of our assessment.
If successfully selected for the summer internship program by KI, each student will have to apply directly to the University of Bonn no later than January 26th 2025.
You are adviced to start looking at the ongoing research projects available in Bonn by following this link. If successfully selected by KI, you will be able to choose up to 3 projects in your application.
Please observe that it is the University of Bonn that will make the final selection of the 25 successful candidates who will participate in their summer internship. By being selected by KI doesn’t automatically mean you are a successful candidate in the summer internship program.
If you are one of the selected students by the University of Bonn, there will be a possibility to apply for travel grants from KI.
This is a great opportunity for KI students to obtain more lab experience.
