KI is invited by the National Research Foundation (NRF) in Singapore to nominate participants to the Global Young Scientists Summit in Singapore 8 – 12 January 2024.

At the Global Child Health and Sustainable Development Goals' team meeting May 17, students supervised by team members were invted to present their thesis. All students gave excellent presentations on various topics within global health, followed by questions and discussion in the team. Thank you to all the students that joined us to present and congratultions on your great work.

Movement and physical activity were in focus when the KI Impact Challenge event was arranged for the first time after the pandemic. About 45 students from Karolinska Institutet were tasked to come up with what is needed to make young people become more physically active. To help them, they had 30 high school students and the various steps in design thinking, a systematic problem-solving method.

KI bachelor, master’s and doctoral students of KI within the fields of biomedicine and life sciences are invited to apply to the 6th International BonnBrain³ Conference hosted by the University of Bonn with the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) and the Max Planck Institute for Neurobiology of Behavior – caesar.

Since we started with the Exit poll in 2008, a lot has happened, as reflected in the results from the Exit poll, which show how more and more doctoral students are satisfied with their doctoral education.

On January 26th, the Centre for Health Crises welcomed a distinguished panel of both national and international researchers and civil servants to the second KI Contributes seminar. The seminar featured short presentations and discussions around the complex issue of extreme heat, with a focus on how to shape and evaluate heat adaptation plans.

In an online event, 30 July, you will have the chance to present your PhD project together with participants from 7 universities member of the Alliance - NeurotechEU-The European University of Brain and Technology.

The summer school is hosted by the Donders Institute, Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands, in collaboration with EU projects such as the European School of Network Neuroscience (euSNN), iNavigate, HBP and The European University of Brain and Technology - NeurotechEU, in which KI is a partner.

KI still has some spots available for the online summit and the call is open for undergraduate students, master and doctoral students as well as young postdoctoral scientists at KI.

During seven weeks in the summer, undergraduate students at Karolinska Institutet can enrol in Karolinska Institutet’s Summer School in Medical Research which is a research-preparatory school. Previous participant Victor Tollemar and supervisor Rachael Sugars both agree that it is an excellent opportunity to receive insight and get to experience a researcher’s world for a short period.
