In the Better4All study we will test a new personalized approach for weight management combining lifestyle support with artificial intelligence and real-time monitoring tools.

You can participate if you:

  • Are 18–65 years old.
  • Have overweight or obesity according to body mass index (BMI), i.e. ≥25*.
  • Own an Android phone.
  • Can read and understand Swedish or English.

*Calculate your BMI by dividing your weight in kilograms with your height in meters squared (height multiplied by itself), i.e. BMI = kg / (m × m).

What does participation involve?

During a six-month intervention period, you will:

  • use a mobile app and a smartwatch that collect data about you,
  • receive personalized recommendations about your lifestyle developed using AI,
  • have regular conversations with a health coach who supports lifestyle changes.

Your participation ends with a follow-up visit after 12 months.

As a thank you for your participation, you will receive three gift cards during the study period, with a total value of 600 SEK.

The study is funded by the EU, and Karolinska Institutet is responsible for conducting the study in Sweden. The study has been reviewed and approved by the Swedish Ethical Review Board.
