To participate in the study, you must:

  • have had a TIA
  • be between 18-64 years old
  • have active employment
  • at least three risk factors for stroke (such as high blood pressure, being overweight, low physical activity, or to be a smoker)
  • be motivated to make lifestyle changes

How does the study work?

You will meet a researcher to assess different aspects of your health. This will take place on two occasions over a period of six months at Karolinska Institutet in Flemingsberg. You will take part in a group program (six group sessions, 60 minutes each) aimed at providing you with tools to make a lifestyle change and reduce your risk of stroke. The group sessions will be held within primary care at Farsta Rehab and will take place on weekdays.

What are the benefits of participating?

You will receive a thorough review of your stroke risk factors and lifestyle habits, and you will have access to all of your results. You will receive support in making a lifestyle change by participating in a stroke‑prevention program. You will also have the opportunity to contribute with your experiences and help influence the future care and rehabilitation for people who have had a TIA.
