New Secretary for the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine

Professor Urban Lendahl has been elected as the new Secretary of the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet and Nobel Committee for Physiology or Medicine. Lendahl succeeds Professor Göran K. Hansson, who has been elected Permanent Secretary of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. Lendahl will take office starting January 1, 2015.

He was a member of the Nobel Committee for Physiology or Medicine 2007-2013 and Chairman of the Nobel Committee 2012. He has been a member of the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet since July 1, 2000.The present Secretary, Professor Göran K. Hansson, has been elected Permanent Secretary of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and will take up this position on July 1, 2015. Professor Hansson remains a member of the Nobel Assembly.
