Johan Bjureberg receives a large grant from VR
We congratulate Johan Bjureberg on receiving almost SEK 20 million from VR Behandlingsforskning for the study Preventing Suicide With Safe Alternatives for Teens and Youths (SAFETY): A Randomized Clinical Trial of a Psychosocial Intervention.
The study aims to establish an evidence base for a suicide prevention program targeting adolescents seeking treatment in child and adolescent psychiatry following a suicide attempt. Currently, there is a significant lack of publicly available evidence-based treatments for this vulnerable group.
As part of this newly launched research program, Johan’s team will evaluate the effectiveness of the Preventing Suicide with Safe Alternatives for Teens and Youths (SAFETY) program in reducing repeated suicide attempts, non-suicidal self-harm, and other measures of psychopathology across Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in five regions of Sweden.
