How can teachers and researchers have a greater impact on issues relating to research, education and academic work at KI? On 23 November, the first Faculty Forum will be held – a new meeting place for dialogue and exchange within KI’s academic community. The forum is open to active teachers and researchers at KI who hold a doctoral degree.

- The aim of Faculty Forum is to strengthen contact and dialogue within the academic community at KI. As faculty representatives, we want to create more opportunities for teachers and researchers to meet, share perspectives and become more involved in the discussion about KI’s development, says Anna Martling, professor and faculty representative on the Faculty Board.

What should KI prioritise?

The first Faculty Forum will take place on 23 November with the theme:

Better prerequisites for research and education – what should KI prioritise?

- Which changes would make the biggest difference to everyday life for KI’s researchers and teachers? This is the discussion we want to invite our colleagues to join. We also want to hear how collegial influence can be developed and which issues we, as faculty representatives, should take with us in our continued work, says Rune Brautaset, professor and faculty representative on the Faculty Board.

An evening of discussion and networking

The programme will begin with a brief introduction to collegial work and how teachers and researchers can contribute through the faculty representatives. This will be followed by discussions focusing on the participants’ experiences, ideas and views. The aim is also to lay the groundwork for future faculty forums and gather suggestions for future themes.

Afterwards, the conversations continue during informal networking with food and live music.
