Henning Richardsson appointed head of purchase

Henning Richardsson will take up his post as head of Purchasing and Procurement on 24 November, having most recently worked at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU).

“Karolinska Institutet has an important and significant mission, and it feels stimulating to be a cog in the wheel. I also think that KI has invested in its purchasing operations, for example by taking control of direct procurement," says Henning Richardsson, who has worked with procurement for most of his career.
"Henning Richardsson has done an exemplary job of demonstrating the value of a well-functioning purchasing organisation at SLU. By working closely with operations, he has been able make savings that can provide better conditions for research and education. Henning Richardsson will be a great addition to KI and will be able to help us on our journey towards increasing our procurement maturity" says Sven Carlsson, head of the Legal, Planning and Finance Department (JPE).
Henning Richardsson comes most recently from SLU, which gives him experience and understanding of the sometimes unique conditions of academia.
"Combining procurement legislation with cutting-edge research can be challenging at times, but also very stimulating! I look forward to getting to know this new organisation and, above all, getting to know the staff at the procurement unit."
