KI-QUAL receives funding to advance qualitative research at KI

The research network Karolinska Interdisciplinary Network for Qualitative Researchers (KI-QUAL) has been awarded SEK 1 875 000 from KI’s funding programme for interdisciplinary research networks. The funding will be used to further develop the network’s activities and create new opportunities for collaboration among qualitative researchers at Karolinska Institutet.

KI-QUAL is a network for researchers conducting qualitative health research and promotes continuing education, networking and collaboration. Since its establishment, the network has grown steadily and today serves as a meeting place for researchers from several departments and disciplines across KI.

The funding will enable the network to expand and further develop its activities. Planned initiatives include workshops, a conference and a summer school for doctoral students, all aimed at strengthening skills development, methodological exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration.

For Ulrika Lögdberg at the Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics, a member of the steering group and project lead for the funding application, the award is highly encouraging.

“We are delighted to receive this funding. It will allow us to continue developing the network and create even more opportunities for knowledge exchange and collaboration among qualitative researchers. There is a strong commitment to qualitative research at KI. Over the years, many people have contributed to the development of the network by sharing their knowledge and ideas. The funding is a valuable recognition of what we have achieved together and gives us the opportunity to take the next step in the development of KI-QUAL,” says Ulrika Lögdberg.
