KI funding to network for qualitative researchers

The Karolinska Interdisciplinary Network for Qualitative Researchers (KI-QUAL) has received SEK 1.9 million from KI's fund for interdisciplinary research networks. KI-QUAL seeks to connect and facilitate collaboration among qualitative researchers across KI and currently has approximately 270 members.

Since 2023, the network has organised two in-house workshops per semester on a range of methods and topics relevant to qualitative research. This funding will enable KI-QUAL to further strengthen collaboration among qualitative researchers by supporting these workshops and expanding activities, including a conference, a two-day summer school for doctoral students, and other network-building initiatives.
Lisette Farias Vera at the Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society and the Division of Occupational Therapy is one of the co-applicants and has been a member of the steering group since the network was established in 2023:
“Receiving this funding is both an opportunity and an encouragement. It will enable us to expand opportunities for collaboration and scholarly exchange, while investing in capacity building and researcher development across the network. Equally important, the funding represents a meaningful recognition of the richness, relevance, and value of qualitative research within KI’s research environment.”
