From 30 March to 17 April, a new round of the employee survey will be conducted to provide an update on our workplace environment. The survey is an important part of KI’s systematic work environment efforts and a way to follow up on working environment, wellbeing, and leadership. It is also a central tool in the ongoing dialogue that drives KI’s continued development – which we do together!

The employee survey is designed for all staff at KI and aims to capture your experience of the organisational and social work environment at KI. By keeping the same index questions as in 2022, we ensure that the results remain comparable over time.

“We want the employee survey to catalyse development, not just a measurement tool. That is why this year we are focusing even more on dialogue, learning, and joint efforts. All managers receive support in leading the work, and every employee’s voice is crucial to our success. Together, we shape the work environment of the future,” says Annika Östman Wernerson, President of KI.

How it works

The survey is distributed via email by KI’s partner Agerus, who manages all responses and ensures anonymity. The survey is available in both Swedish and English and will remain open for three weeks, from 30 March to 17 April.

The survey consists of two parts. The first covers the employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS), which measures how likely you are to recommend KI as a workplace. The second part comprises four index areas: Employee engagement, leadership, organisation, and goals & strategies.

Your responses contribute to a better workplace health

By sharing your experiences of your daily work, you help highlight what is already functioning well and what needs to be improved, ensuring that KI continue to be a workplace where employees thrive, grow, and contribute to the university’s vision.

Your feedback provides valuable insights that form the basis of the collective efforts to enhance health, engagement, and quality in our work environment.

Focus on dialogue and learning after the survey

The results serve as both a foundation and a starting point for developing improvements together. To support managers in leading the follow‑up work, KI offers resources such as webinars, dialogue sessions, and individual guidance.

Looking back at 2022

Previous surveys (2014, 2017 and the most recent in 2022) have provided valuable insights to build on to strengthen work environment efforts within the organisation. The last survey showed both a high response rate and a clear positive trend with a recommendation rate (eNPS) of 29, placing KI among the top higher‑education institutions in Sweden.

The results also showed that 81 percent of employees had strong confidence in their immediate manager, and that confidence in the university´s management increased by 12 percent compared with the 2017 survey. Overall, the results indicated higher engagement, stronger leadership, and an improved work environment.

To ensure we can build effectively on this year’s results, it is important that the response rate remains high this year as well.
