Reflections from a PRAO student

During one week in April, Emelie Norke visited the Global Child Health and the Sustainable Development Goals research group as a PRAO student, under the supervision of Carina King and Jill Åhs. At the end of her placement, she shared her experiences and reflections from the week.
What I have learned:
-How people work with global health and why it matters.
-How different countries are affected in different ways.
-How research and knowledge can help improve people's lives.
-How important teamwork and cooperation are around the world.
-That even small actions can make a big difference.
Reflection:
Overall, my experience here has been really good and interesting. Everyone has been kind and welcoming, which made me feel comfortable and motivated to learn more. Before this, I didn't fully understand what global health actually meant, but now I see how big and important it is.
I have learned that global health is just not about diseases, but also about equality and access to healthcare, and improving living conditions for people everywhere. It's fascinating to see how much work goes on behind the scenes and how organisations and researchers are trying to solve real world problems.
This experience has given me a wider perspective on the world and made me more aware of how connected everything is. It also made me think about how lucky we are in some ways, and how it's important to help others.
I think this prao place was an amazing experience and I would definitely recommend it to others. It has been both educational and inspiring, and I'm really glad I got the chance to be here!
