KI funding to network for qualitative researchers
KI-QUAL has received SEK 2.2 million from KI’s fund for interdisciplinary research networks to strengthen collaboration among qualitative researchers. The funding will support workshops, a conference and a summer school for doctoral students.
The Karolinska Interdisciplinary Network for Qualitative Researchers (KI-QUAL) has received SEK 2.2 million from KI's fund for interdisciplinary research networks. KI-QUAL seeks to connect and facilitate collaboration among qualitative researchers across KI, and currently has approximately 270 members.
The network organizes two in-house workshops per semester covering various methods and topics relevant to qualitative researchers. The funding will also allow the network to organize a conference and other activities, such as a two-day summer school for doctoral students.
Ann Liljas at the Department of Global Public Health is one of the co-applicants and has been a member of the steering group since the network was established in 2023:
“We are very pleased to receive this funding, as it allows us to do so much more, including placing a greater focus on early-career researchers. It is also important because it recognizes qualitative research at KI.”
