Due to the power outage last week, new panels for the back-up power system need to be installed. This work is scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, and will include a brief power shut-down in Biomedicum to test the back-up system once installation is complete.

KI ELN will be upgraded to version 2025 SP1 on Friday, October 31.
Please note the following important points:

KI ELN will be unavailable throughout the upgrade day.
ELNAdminWeb will be discontinued as part of the upgrade, and you will no longer be able to log in there.
After the upgrade, you must install version 2025 SP1 of the Biovia Desktop Connector.
If the homepage gets stuck on “Loading” after the upgrade, clear your browser cache.

On Tuesday November 11, Akademiska Hus will test the sprinklers in the building between 08:00 - 09:00.

Currently, it is not possible to log in to KLARA.

On Thursday, October 23rd, starting after 7:00 PM, an update will be carried out on ki.se, including medarbetare.ki.se, nyheter.ki.se, and utbildning.ki.se. During the update, some downtime may occur, and it will not be possible to log in or work in the web publishing system.

A power outage in Biomedicum between approximately 2:20 p.m. and 4:20 p.m. (22/10) affected a data center in the building.
As a safety measure, parts of the center were shut down, which affected the website ki.se that was unavailable between 3:35 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
The problem has now been resolved.

The IT department will continue to restore other affected systems during the evening.

As of 1 October, the University Library, KIB, is part of the Dynamics case management system. This means that other functions that are currently using Dynamics can transfer cases to our team KIB-Bibliotekssupport. We would like you to submit all cases to KIB-Bibliotekssupport that used to be emailed to kib@ki.se, and we will ensure that they are answered by the right team within KIB.

Karolinska Institutet offers all employees fire safety training, that includes both theoretical and practical content. The fire safety training is mandatory for all KI staff and must be undertaken within 6 months from employment, and then repeated every 4:th years.

On Friday 19 September, between 13 and 14, there will be a test and maintenance on the fire detection and alarm system in Neo, including a mandatory evacuation drill, and we kindly ask you to participate in this potentially life-saving exercise.

The attack on the Microsoft SharePoint software reported in the media on 23 July has not affected KI. SharePoint and other Microsoft services are used at KI, but the installation solution that KI has has not been affected by the current attack.

2025-07-15 10:21 The operational disturbance has been resolved. It is now possible to place orders in Wisum.

We are currently experiencing a service disruption in Wisum. As a result, new orders are temporarily suspended. Troubleshooting is in progress.

Planned network maintenance on 8 July from 19:00 to 20:00. Short interruptions may occur.

On 8 July the hot water in Neo will be shut off due to urgent maintenance work. We ask you to plan your work accordingly, especially work carried out in the labs.

Update 2025-06-27 08:17: The service disruption has been resolved and the ability to print using EduPrint has been restored.

There is currently a service disruption with the provider that is affecting the ability to print using EduPrint. Troubleshooting is in progress.

Disruptions in Microsoft 365 Exchange Online

If you have invited external parties to collaborate in teams, you will shortly receive an email asking you to review these access permissions.

On Monday 26 May, starting at 18:30, the provider Artologik Survey & Report will conduct an update.

Blasting for new metro tracks and entrances began in 2020, and the blasting work is expected to be completed by early 2026. During 2025-2026, blasting for new metro tracks and entrances may affect instruments in Biomedicum that are sensitive to vibrations.

If you have educational material in Kaltura (KI Play), you will now be storing your video and audio material for Canvas courses directly in the new Canvas Studio tool.

On March 31, My Campus app will be replaced by a mobile-friendly website. The new site offers the same functions and more opportunities to keep you updated on what’s happening on your campus.

On Friday morning at 9am, we will launch a new functionality in KI RIMS to hide group members from the group page on ki.se. The work will begin on Thursday evening 27 February and is not expected to cause any disruption.

During week 8 and 12, KI RIMS will implement the new standard for the Swedish classification of research subjects from SCB and UKÄ. The new standard introduces entirely new subject areas, while some are removed or renamed.
