Two-factor authentication (2FA) in BioRender
On the evening of 1 April, two-factor authentication (2FA) will be enabled for BioRender users covered by the joint KI-agreement.
BioRender is introducing 2FA to enhance the security of user accounts and reduce the risk of unauthorised access.
The first time you log in after this, you will need to follow the on-screen instructions to set up an authenticator app. KI recommends Microsoft Authenticator, which you already use to log in to KI systems.
Important: save your recovery code.
Once you have enabled 2FA, the following applies
When logging in, you will need to enter a one-time code from your authenticator app in addition to your password.
You can choose to “save” your computer for 30 days, which means you won’t need to enter the 2FA code every time you log in on that device during that period (use only on personal devices).
If you change or lose your device and no longer have access to your authenticator, 2FA will need to be reset by an administrator – in which case, please create a ticket in KI Self Service.
