New network grant from Forte to SIA

The Social inequalities in ageing network (SIA), led by Neda Agahi and Johan Fritzell, has received a three-year grant from Forte. This is a continuation of a Nordic network involving several leading Nordic researchers and their junior colleagues emanating from the earlier SIA programme. The SIA Network will receive a total of SEK 446,000 over three years.

“The new network grant enables us to continue with the capacity building and the strengthening of Nordic collaborations within social ageing research,” says Johan Fritzell, Principal Investigator of the network at the Aging Research Center (ARC), Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society, Karolinska Institutet.
“Although a network grant, in terms of money, is smaller than a typical research project grant, I am convinced that we can have a great impact and continue our important mission,” he continues.
“I am also especially glad that earlier Nordic junior researchers within our former large-scale SIA programme are still involved, now being senior researchers”, says Johan Fritzell.
