KI researchers awarded in the spirit of Arvid Carlsson
Professor Lars Olson is awarded the Arvid Carlsson Foundation’s major prize for outstanding research 2023. In addition, Professor Sophie Erhardt and Adjunct Professor Johan Lundberg are both awarded grants from the foundation.
Lars Olson at the Department of Neuroscience is awarded in the spirit of Arvid Carlsson for his extensive and important studies concerning monoaminergic nerve transmission and mechanisms for plasticity in the central nervous system.
Sophie Erhardt at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology is awarded for her studies concerning mechanisms of importance for the pathophysiology and treatment of schizophrenia.
Johan Lundberg at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience is awarded for his studies concerning mechanisms of importance for the pathophysiology and treatment of depression.
The award ceremony is being held in Gothenburg on 31 August.

The Arvid Carlsson Foundation was established in 2002 to honor Nobel Prize Laureate Arvid Carlsson’s outstanding research work. The Arvid Carlsson Foundation supports research and education with a focus on brain disorders. The fund also supports efforts to improve the methods of treatment for psychiatric and neurological diseases through implementation of new research findings.
