FyFa Health challange: "We help each other getting inspired"
Four questions to FyFa employees Rebecka Jakobsson, HR-partner and Duarte Ferreira, Assistant professor, about their experiences participating in FyFa Health Challange.
Duarte Ferriera is Assistant Professor at FyFa and team leader for MoMoLeWo (Move More Less Worries):
Hi Duarte, are you working out more now that you’re in FyFa Health Challenge?
The FyFa Health Challenge pushed me to work out more often and go more to the gym. I was going to the gym twice per week and now I’m going 3-4 times per week.
How’s your team spirit?
We are a team of 7 people so we are pushing each other to train a bit more and gain more points. As the team leader, I encourage them each day to do some activity to accumulate some points not only to win the challenge but also to get more active since we spend too much time seated.
What’s the best part of FyFa Health Challenge?
For me, it brings people together. Now, easily it turns into a conversation during Fika. During PepTalk days, I talk with other team members. It’s really fun!
Another positive thing is the challenge of trying a new physical activity. I already tried some gym classes that I wouldn’t have tried if it wasn’t for this challenge.
Do you have any training advices for us that need to step up our game?
Training is not only muscle activity but also motivation and challenge yourself. Instead of taking the elevator, go by stairs. You can go out from the bus one stop before and walk to work or home. But the most important thing is to find support in your team and push each other a bit more, be more active and have fun. In addition, it really is a benefit for one’s mental health.
Rebecka Jakobsson is HR-partner and member of team SOS Admin:
Hi Rebecka, are you working out more now that you’re in FyFa Health Challenge?
Yes, I am at least more active during this challenge with a lot of walking in combination with playing golf and swimming as exercise.
How’s your team spirit?
Very good I would say! By giving boosts or comments on each other's posts we help each other to get inspired.
What’s the best part of FyFa Health Challenge?
I enjoy the competition within FyFa and that you can follow other teams and colleagues. I also appreciate the daily challenges that reminds me about small changes to get a healthier everyday life.
Do you have any training advices for us that need to step up our game?
Try to keep it simple by taking a lunch walk or register your own activities that take place during the week like cleaning the house or gardening. It is important to remember that you can be active in different ways. There are also good classes and workouts in the app which you can do for free.
I wish all of you good luck to continue working out in FyFa Health Challenge and may the best team win!
