Diploma ceremony for SI Scholarship Holders and KI students in Stockholm City Hall
On May 25, the Swedish Institute (SI) hosted a diploma ceremony at Stockholm's City Hall, celebrating its scholarship recipients. Among the scholars were seven students from Karolinska Institutet (KI) on site.
The SI Scholarship for Global Professionals provides professionals from all over the world with a fully funded scholarship to study a master's programme in Sweden. This year, 337 scholars graduated from various Swedish universities.
One of the SI Scholarship holders and KI graduates was Diana Ama Afrifa from Ghana who just completed the Master’s Programme in Health Economics, Policy, and Management. Reflecting on her experience, she emphasized the collaborative spirit in the Swedish culture, seen in both social and professional settings.
"One thing that has stood out and stuck with me through my experiences here in Sweden, is the importance of working together and weaving a tapestry of diverse thoughts and ideas into a cohesive vision, which was emphasized in every classroom and social interaction such as fika, and group works", Diana shared.
Another KI student and SI Scholarship holder is Bikram Bucha from Nepal, who has graduated from the Master’s Programme in Public Health Science and Epidemiology. He cherishes the special memories he created at KI, both on campus and outside.
"My most memorable moments at KI are with my friends, in the classroom and outside. In the classroom, most group works would end up in discussing off topics and sharing cultural and political insights from each country and the world that were insightful and engaging. Apart from academic learning, I also enjoyed my time outside the classroom", he says.
Both, Diana and Bikram, are grateful for their time at KI and look forward to their future endeavours with excitement and motivation.
