Fysiologföreningen proudly presents:

Cellular heterogeneity in human skeletal muscle: rethinking fiber types and exercise adaptation

Wim Derave. Wim is a professor at the Department of Movement and Sports Sciences at Ghent University in Belgium. Wim made a PhD on the effects of exercise on muscle insulin action and glycogen metabolism, in collaboration with Prof. JL Pannier and Prof. Erik Richter at Copenhagen Muscle Research Centre in Denmark. More recently, Wim and his team have studied skeletal muscle fiber typology and the cellular heterogeneity in muscle, and their involvement in the adaptations to exercise metabolism.

“Killing two birds with one stone – exercise training in the reproductive years”

Trine Moholdt. Trine is a researcher scientist and the Head of the Exercise, Cardiometabolic Health, and Reproduction Research Group (EXCAR) at the Department of Circulation and Medical Imaging, at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Her research focus the last decade has been exercise and nutrition interventions to prevent and manage cardiometabolic diseases in reproductive-aged women.
