Application Open for Minor Field Studies (MFS) – Autumn Semester 2026

The application for Minor Field Studies (MFS) for the autumn semester of 2026 is now open. The scholarship provides students with the opportunity to conduct a field study in a low- or middle-income country as part of their degree project. The application deadline is 17 April, 2026.

Students can now apply for a scholarship to conduct a field study abroad as part of their degree project. Minor Field Studies (MFS) is a Sida-funded scholarship program that provides students at the undergraduate and master’s levels with the opportunity to collect data in a low- or middle-income country.

The scholarship amounts to 25,000 SEK and can be used to cover expenses such as travel, accommodation, and other costs related to the field study. The study must last a minimum of six weeks and a maximum of twenty weeks and must be conducted in an eligible host country. The thesis must be written in English and linked to one of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
