Stockholm Trio Alumni reception in Tokyo, Japan
In conjunction with KI's visit to Tokyo in February 2023, connected to a workshop within Stockholm Trio for a sustainable future, we hosted an alumni event for about seventy guests from KI, KTH and SU. The evening offered, among other things, a talk with KI alumnus Takeaki Dohda, currently director of investments at Google in Tokyo (left in picture). With alumni, students, researchers and university representatives on site, collaboration was the thread of the day.
Earlier during the day, we hosted an open visit to the National Museum of Science and Nature in Ueno Park. Participants were able to see the whole exhibition with audioguide and then out to visit the samurai-festival hosted in commemoration of the Emperor's birthday. The festival offered both historical performances as well as tasty food in the middle of the park.
KI has a long standing collaboration with Japan through a number of universities, where the partnership with University of Tokyo has now been strengthened even further through the UTokyo-KI Link programme. With this as backdrop, Japan becomes an example of how long term initiatives, where alumni can be part of the future, creates more opportunities and widens the impact for further collaborations.
