Simone Tambaro receives approximately SEK 2 million from Alzheimer’s Association
Simone Tambaro, Senior Research Specialist at the Division of Neurogeriatrics, receives approximately SEK 2 million (198 319 US dollar) in research grant from Alzheimer’s Association.
He receives it for his research project ”Unraveling the Therapeutic Potential of SPPL2b in Alzheimer's Disease”.
The study aims, for the first time, to assess the pathophysiological role and therapeutic potential of inhibiting SPPL2b using a novel AD mouse model. This comprehensive approach combines in vivo and in vitro methods, human samples, and computational techniques to enhance understanding of AD pathology and explore new therapeutic avenues.
Simone Tambaro is part of Per Nilsson's research group at the Division of Neurogeriatrics.
The intent with the research grant – Alzheimer's Association Research Grant (AARG) – is to support early-career development that will lay the groundwork for future research grant applications to federal or other funding entities.
