Renovation work is now underway to create a new room for examinations and computer-based teaching at the Solna campus. It will meet the need for both an exam hall and computer-based teaching.

The new examination hall in Scheele (ground floor) will be centrally located where students already spend time: close to group rooms and teaching rooms (75:01 and the Berzelius Laboratory), KI’s gym and library. The current laboratory and office spaces are being converted into a lecture theatre that will be suitable for both examinations and computer-based teaching.

The aim of the refurbishment is to create better facilities for study rooms and individual rooms for targeted educational support, located alongside the large study room in the Berzelius Laboratory (BZ Building). To compensate for the reduction in standard study spaces there, the new study room is being built in Scheele.

Ready for use in 2027

The writing room in Scheele is expected to be completed in mid-November 2026 and will be ready for use by the spring term of 2027.

Bookings for exam rooms or computer-based teaching will follow the same procedure currently used for exam bookings.
