Congratulations! What does this appointment mean to you?

Thank you! I am very happy about this! It feels like a milestone and a confirmation of the research and teaching I have carried out.

What do you hope to achieve in your new role as Associate Professor?

I hope to continue doing exciting research and to supervise students who can become the next generation of successful researchers. I also look forward to taking a more active role in teaching at the undergraduate level.

What projects are you currently working on?

In recent years, my group has studied the properties of different types of blood stem cells and how they change with aging. Now we are interested in studying how different types of blood stem cells give rise to blood diseases, particularly leukemias.

How did you celebrate?

I celebrated with champagne with my family and the closest colleagues who have supported me along the way.
