KI NeurotechEU steering group is pleased to announce the availability of limited competitive funds for KI faculty, staff and/or students to conduct collaborative interactions within the field of Neurotechnology.

The NeurotechEU Collaborative Awards aim to promote research activities, organization of workshops and lectures, and mobility between KI and the eight partner institutions within NeurotechEU

Funding can be used for initiating or maintaining a collaboration within NeurotechEU. Examples for use of funds include, but are not limited to:  

  • Lab visits to a partner university  
  • Data collection for ongoing or new research projects  
  • Organizing workshops and lectures (with speakers from NeurotechEU partners) held at KI on the topic of Neurotechnology  
  • Host a Phd student in your lab 
  • Attending a NeurotechEU conference or workshop 
  • Other types of mobility within the NeurotechEU partners 

Applications submitted by young investigators will be prioritized.  

The maximum award for this call is 75 000 SEK for research projects, and up to 40 000 SEK for travel grants, organizing workshops, inviting external lecturers and other activities.  

Application process and deadline  

The deadline is March 15th, 2025 at 13.00. Proposals must be submitted via email to neurotech@ki.se. Proposals submitted after the deadline will not be considered. 

Applications must include: 

  • Details of the intended collaborator/s, including their affiliations 
  • Explanation for the interaction, including its relevance to research, education, or innovation goals, along with a description of the proposed travel, including approximate dates (maximum one page) 
  • Budget  
  • Support letter from the KI department head or equivalent 
  • Endorsement letter by the proposed host (if applicable) 
  • Biosketch of the applicant (maximum one page) 

 Assessment of applications 

All applications are assessed based on the following criteria: 

  • Scientific quality and potential of the proposed project. 
  • Potential to establish or consolidate collaborations in education, research, and innovation. 
  • Endorsement letter by the proposed host 
  • If the proposed budget is realistic in relation to the scope of the proposed collaboration/grant application.
