In a newly launched mentorship programme, a mentor is paired with a student who is keen to learn about professional life or research. Together, you will discuss working life and career paths.

As a mentor, you have at least three years’ professional or research experience. The student must have completed at least one term of their Degree programme at KI, and the mentor’s role is to act as a discussion partner who offers reflection and shares their experience.

– The mentorship programme gives students an opportunity to feel better prepared for working life by offering new perspectives on careers and future professional roles. It can provide a clearer picture of the opportunities available after graduation and increase motivation in their studies, says Jakob Zetterberg, head of the mentoring programme, Department of Educational Support.

Become a mentor

  • Make a real difference to a student
  • Gain a rewarding experience and personal development
  • Share your knowledge and experience
  • Gain new perspectives through the student’s questions
  • Strengthen your connection to KI

Application

Find out more about the programme and register your interest. Apply by 10 May.

In this first round, a total of 20 mentor pairs will be matched. As places are limited, not everyone may be assigned a mentor. You will be notified at the end of August/beginning of September.

How it works

Matches are based on the student’s motivation and preferences regarding the mentor’s background and experience. We also take into account field of study, interests and language.

The programme begins with a joint welcome dinner on 7 October 2026. After that, the mentor and the student will meet at least four times until April 2027; you decide the time and place yourselves.
