KI well positioned in several areas in QS subject rankings
Karolinska Institutet maintains a strong position in several areas in QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) international subject rankings for universities. In the subject area Medicine, KI is ranked number seven globally, up from number twelve last year. KI also strengthens its position in the subject areas Biological Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy and Pharmacology, and Psychology.
KI maintains its position within the top-5 in the subject area Dentistry and in the top-10 in the broad subject area Life Sciences and Medicine.
In the EU, KI is ranked number one in the area Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy and Pharmacology, as well as in the broad subject area Life Sciences and Medicine. In Sweden, KI is also ranked number one in the subject areas Biological Sciences, Dentistry, and Psychology.
About QS university rankings
QS is a British company that specializes in university rankings. The rankings are mainly based on data on scientific publications and global academic reputation surveys. More than 1,500 higher education institutions are ranked across 54 narrow and five broad subject areas, of which only a few are relevant for a medical university like KI. KI is not part of QS overall university ranking, which only includes multi-faculty universities and is published annually in the summer.
