Professor Mats Trulsson at the Department of Dental Medicine, Karolinska Institutet, has been awarded an honorary doctorate at Université Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier, in Toulouse, France.

This distinguished honour highlights Mats Trulsson's significant contribution to the field of dentistry and his commitment to promoting education and research in dentistry. Mats is a recognised expert in orofacial neuroscience and is particularly known for his work in mapping the regulatory functions of the masticatory system. More recently, he has also become interested in the importance of chewing function for cognitive functions, food intake and quality of life.

"It is a great honour to receive this award. France has a long history in the development of orofacial neuroscience, so this award recognises that our research group has made a substantial contribution to the field," says Mats Trulsson.
