Fixup of the premises is on the schedule for the student unions during 2023

A new semester means new plans for the student unions at Karolinska Institutet. The focus will, among other things, be to renovate the premises, expand the introduction weeks, and continue their work to make members feel at home.

As usual, the new semester got off to a flying start. After a few intensive introduction weeks during the semester’s start, it is time for the student unions to look ahead to the coming spring semester.

Focus for 2023

During 2023, both student unions, Medicinska Föreningen (MF) and Odontologiska Föreningen (OF) plan to give their premises a fresh look.

“We want to make it an attractive meeting place for our members to take a break between exams, clinic sessions, and lectures.“ says OF's new president Petra Waters.

Lovisa Hagenfeldt, who has been re-elected president of MF's board of 2023, tells us that they plan to renovate their house too and will give it a more modern look during the summer. Furthermore, MF will also focus on expanding the student life in Flemingsberg, the introduction weeks, and continue to work for increased internationalization at home.

Is there anything you want to say to the KI students?

“Getting involved in the union means that you get as much as possible out of your time as a student. You are always welcome to us! We hope you will find a home on campus and at MF, just as many students before you have done“, says Lovisa Hagenfeldt.

“Get involved in the union and its activities. Don't think your voice or presence doesn't matter because it does! Get to know other students and influence your education as, for example, a student representative. A warm welcome to OF!“ says Petra Waters.
