Changed routine for registration for examination

On 1 April, a coordinated exam service will be introduced at KI, which means changed routines for how you as a student register for written examinations on-site. It applies to all examinations given from 1 April onwards. This means that the new routines come into effect from mid-March.

A new routine is also introduced on how you get your placement in the examination room.

Changed routines

For all exminations written in KI's examination rooms on-site the following applies to examinations:

  • You must register for the examination no later than 10 calendar days before the examination.
  • You must be registered or re-registered for the particular course.
  • You will receive your placement for the examination room via the schedule in TimeEdit.

In addition to these changes, the procedures for registration for examinations and resits as well as late registrations will also be updated.

This means that there are changed procedures that start as early as mid-March when it comes to registration.

It is important that you inform yourself about what applies to your course. Information about registration is available in your course room in Canvas or on the course website.

Registration for examination

  • During the spring semester 2023, the education administrators can register groups of students in Ladok.
  • From the autumn semester 2023, you as a student must register yourself for the examination via Ladok.

For some courses, it is introduced already in the spring that you as a student register yourself in Ladok. It is important that you inform yourself about which registration routine applies to your course. This information will be found in the course room in Canvas.

Registration to re-examination

For those who are going to take a re-examination on-site, the following applies:

  • You must register for the course. Registration at a re-examination is not needed for students who are only to take a re-examination if their regular course session is linked to the activity session for registration for the examination. Information about this is available on the course website.
  • You must register according to the information on the course web no later than 10 days before the examination.
  • You must be authorized, according to the syllabus, to write the examination.

You find information about what applies for your course in Canvas or on the course website.

Late registrations

A student who registers late (less than 10 days before the examination) may be allowed to do the examination if it is possible to arrange:

  • registration for the course,
  • placement in the examination room
  • verification of eligibility to write the examination

Information on how to register late is available on the course website and in Canvas.

Late registration on-site for the examination

If you arrive directly to the examination without having registered, you may take the examination if

  • there is space in the examination room and
  • there are conditions to arrange registration for the course and
  • verification of eligibility to write the examination.

It is the education administrator who registers and checks eligibility on site. The invigilator then needs to get an approval from the education administrator and see that the student is registered and has gained access to the digital examination in Inspera in order to write the examination.

If all conditions are met, the student will be admitted to the examination at the late admission to the examination hall.

Placement in the examination room

In your schedule in TimeEdit you will be able to see your placement in the examination room for the examination. The link is activated the day before the examination,  you log in with your social security number to see your place in the room.
