Title

Medications effects on functional biomarkers of aging. 

Abstract 

Antihypertensive, lipid-lowering, and blood glucose-lowering drugs have slowed down the aging process in animal models. In humans, studies are limited, have short follow-up times, and show mixed results. In this faculty event, I will present results from our studies on the effects of commonly used medications (21 pharmacological subgroups) on functional aging, cognitive function, and frailty. 

About the speaker 

I am a Postdoctoral researcher at MEB. My research focuses on the effects of different pharmacological subgroups on human functional biological aging over time (functional aging, cognitive function, and frailty).
