The Center for Bioinformatics and Biostatistics (CBB) presents a bioinformatics seminar with Farhad Abtahi, Senior Research Infrastructure Specialist

Title: Poisoned at the Source - Why Healthcare AI Security Demands Attention Now

Speaker: Farhad Abtahi, Senior Research Infrastructure Specialist

As AI transforms medical diagnostics, documentation, and clinical decision support, a critical vulnerability remains underexplored: data poisoning. This seminar examines how adversaries can subtly manipulate training data to cause misdiagnoses, alter treatment recommendations, or compromise patient safety — often without detection.

Attendees will gain insight into realistic attack scenarios, the surprising ease with which healthcare AI systems can be compromised, and practical frameworks for building more resilient and secure systems.

Before the seminar, a limited number of sandwiches and drinks will be served on a “First come – first served” basis starting 12:00. Show up early and network!
