Lectures and seminars Clinicum seminar: Artificial intelligence vs. human expert
Licensed mental health clinicians’ blinded evaluation of AI-generated and expert psychological advice on quality, empathy, and perceived authorship .
Sweden has a strong tradition of pioneering digital mental healthcare. As generative AI emerges as the next frontier, its clinical acceptance remains an open question.
This seminar presents a blinded study comparing AI-generated psychological advice to expert responses. While the AI matched or exceeded human experts in scientific quality and empathy, clinicians demonstrated a strong authorship bias, overwhelmingly favoring advice they perceived to be human-written. We will discuss how this bias impacts the integration of AI into clinical practice and explore its future potential as a supportive 'co-pilot' for therapists.
