uMOVE – a new core facility!
uMOVE – a biobehavioural health care centre for hUman MOVEment
The uMOVE core facility has received funding from the Strategic Research Area in Health Sciences (SFO-V) to build a modern laboratory environment for research within the health care research area.
The primary goal of the uMOVE core facility is to provide a state of the art platform for investigation of human movement and behavior for researchers within care sciences mainly via multi-disciplinary approaches.
uMOVE will provide new knowledge and develop evaluation methods of the dynamical aspects of movement in interplay with psychological aspects − taking into account the impact of cognitive and emotional factors on movement such as the impact of pain, depression or cognitive processes (and vice versa).
uMOVE is a collaboration between several departments and activities at Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital.
