Tobias Alfvén new chairman of the Swedish Society of Medicine

KI researcher Tobias Alfvén has been elected new chairman of the Swedish Society of Medicine and will take office on 1 July, 2020.

Tobias Alfvén, senior researcher of global health at the Department of Global Public Health at Karolinska Institutet and paediatrician at the Saxon Children's and Youth Hospital, Södersjukhuset, has been elected new chairman of the Swedish Society of Medicine (SLS) and will take office on 1 July.

”I am deeply honored to have the members confidence to lead SLS. I look forward to working with SLS member associations and sections and the important work we have ahead of us,” says Tobias Alfvén. In the coming year, we will continue to prioritize physicians' continuing education, stimulate medical research, safeguard care as needed and ensure the quality of health care while continuing to work on member reform and the common issues that are on fire.
